What to Expect at an Appointment
Knowing what to expect at your first appointment will help make the process more pleasant for both you and your furry friend.
1. Get Settled
Please arrive approximately 10 minutes early to fill out our New Patient Form. To save a bit of time, you can complete the New Patient Form online in advance.
2. Meet Your Veterinarian
One of our veterinarians will review your cat or dog's history and discuss their issues. They will conduct a physical exam, which will include checking your cat or dog's coat, face and head, teeth and mouth, and general demeanour.
You will be able to ask questions during this time, and they will take the time to answer them.
3. Exam, Diagnosis & Treatment
Once your cat or dog has been assessed, we will provide you with a diagnosis and options for treatment.
After your visit, we will create a detailed report of our diagnosis and your cat or dog's treatment plan. We will keep this information on hand for whenever you need it.

- What types of payment options are available?
Payment in full is expected at the time services are provided or upon discharge of your cat or dog. We accept payment by cash, cheque, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
- Are there payment plans available for my cat or dog’s care?
We are proud to offer Medicard as a financing option. They offer an easy application process that will give you results in minutes.
- Will I be provided with an estimate of costs?
We will provide a good-faith estimate of the cost of our services prior to treating your cat or dog. However, unforeseen circumstances may arise that impact your final bill.
We will always discuss our written estimate with all clients before they leave our facility, and require a deposit based on our estimate prior to any further treatment.
- What areas do you serve?
Country Meadows Pet Hospital offers comprehensive veterinary services for cats and dogs in Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Port Coquitlam, and the surrounding areas.
- Should I call ahead to book an appointment?
Yes, please call ahead to book an appointment to ensure we have room in our schedule to see your cat or dog.
In the event that your cat or dog needs emergency care during our regular business hours, please contact us right away.
- What is your appointment cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer the space in our schedule to other clients.
- What types of animals do you treat?
We take care of cats and dogs.
- Where can I purchase my cat or dog's prescription and food?
You can purchase all the medications and specialty food your cat or dog needs via our in-house pharmacy.
We carry Medi-cal Royal Canin veterinary foods and Hill's Prescription Diets for dogs and cats in-house. We would be pleased to order in any special diets your cat or dog may require.
We also carry a variety of supplies for cats and dogs to provide you with a selection of safe, supplements, treats and shampoos.

- What are the fees associated with an emergency visit?
A deposit payment is required for all emergency examinations. Once the staff and doctors have examined your cat or dog, an estimate for treatment will be given to you to determine a treatment plan.
If further hospitalization, diagnostics or surgery are required, a deposit is required up front, with payment in full due when your cat or dog is discharged.
- Can you help with my cat or dog's insurance?
We’re happy to help you fill out the insurance forms for your cat or dog’s visit.
